A few of the millions of culinary specialities of South Korea

South Korea has a real diversity in terms of cuisine. You can find the real and famous specialities in the restaurants (bibimbap, gimbap, Galbi – barbecue…) and you can also find tons of different recipes for homestyle cooking…

Eating in south Korea, how does it work ? First you receive a bowl of rice which is the basic ingredient of a south korean meal. Then you receive several little bowls of side dishes like kimchi, vegetable pancake (“whatever”jon), soup, octopus, fish, pickles etc… The food is shared between everyone around the table except for your bowl of rice. You pick your food (side dishes) with your chopsticks and then you eat your rice + side dishes with your spoon.

Last thing… This is not rude to leave the table as soon as you’re done eating !
